Atlanta, GA, December 15, 2016 – Kicking off the new year with a strong start, Sequence Health will head to Newport Beach, CA, as an exhibitor at the 2017 Perioperative Medicine Conference on January 21-22.
Titled Interdisciplinary Conference on Orthopedic Value Based Care, the conference will focus on best practices of patient management before, during and after orthopedic surgery and on orthopedic value-based care.
Value-based healthcare is a departure from tradition “pay for performance” (fee-for-service) healthcare, where billing and payments are made based on the procedures performed. Value-based healthcare provides payments based on successful outcomes and healthy patients. With value-based healthcare, the incentives shift to providing and coordinating care through the entire care episode, including through post-operative care. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has developed several initiatives that use these bundled payments. One of them — the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) model — is of particular interest to orthopedic medicine.
