Alpharetta, GA – October 5, 2016 – Sequence Health, the Georgia-based healthcare technology company, announced the transition of their medical call center facility to Cullman, Alabama, bringing 128 jobs to the area. This move provides customer service positions for individuals of multiple experience levels and promises to revitalize the local economy by providing solid, reliable employment for the people of Cullman County.
The announcement was made to a rapt audience at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, AL. Sequence Health CEO John Richmond spoke to the crowd, dictating plans for the company’s expansion and its presence in the area. “We evaluated several locations in the Southeast before concluding that Cullman was right for us,” he said amidst the cheers. “We were impressed with the city leaders, the people here and their passion for the community. We can’t wait to put down roots here.”
As a part of the move into Cullman, Sequence will be utilizing a 15,000 square foot space in Industrial Park 3. This location establishes a cutting edge resource center, ensuring all Sequence Health clients can speak to a customer service representative whenever necessary.
As Richmond stated, the adoption of a new and dedicated space is a significant step up; in the meantime, the company’s medical call center team will work out of a room in the Bailey Center on Wallace State’s campus. Sequence Health will benefit greatly from access to a larger facility with an improved ability to meet client needs. The new center is expected to be up and running by August 2017.
Despite the big plans, the move almost didn’t come through. With a lack of immediately available space, the Sequence customer service team felt as though their hands were tied. That is, until Wallace State stepped up to fill the void. Alabama Senator Paul Bussman went out of his way to praise the school, thanking the administrators who made the company’s presence on campus a possibility.
“Without their help, we wouldn’t be able to make this announcement today,” he said, before going on to congratulate Richmond and Sequence Health on their newly established permanent presence in the area. “Our goal has always been to make every employer successful, and we work at that every day.”
Cullman Mayor Max A. Townson and Cullman County Commission Chairman Kenneth Walker also took the stage during the Sequence press conference in order to express enthusiasm for the addition of jobs and revenue to the community. “We appreciate the jobs you’re going to create,” Towson said during his turn at the mic. President of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce, Leah Bolin, added her support for the mayor’s statement, stating how pleased she was to be “working together in the months and years ahead. It might sound cliche,” she said with a smile, “but it’s true.”
Ted Clem, a member of the Alabama Department of Commerce, said it best, however, as he ruminated on the circumstances surrounding Sequence Health’s growing role in the Cullman economy: “This is a wonderful day to celebrate.”
